SoftBank marks anniversaries with mobile, broadband and power discounts

SoftBank has launched anniversary promotions for its mobile, broadband and electricity businesses in Japan.

The company is marking 20 years in mobile, 25 years in broadband and 10 years in electricity with discounts, coupons and a prize draw.

Eligible mobile customers can save ¥2,860 a month for one year by joining one of two specified phone plans and newly signing up for qualifying home internet service.

Gold cardholders may receive a smaller monthly discount after the first year, while the phone and home internet bills still apply.

A November coupon offers one Mos Burger chicken to eligible SoftBank mobile customers, redeemable on one Friday that month.

Other offers include two months of ¥890 monthly discounts on a qualifying SoftBank 光 Netflix package and up to ¥3,300 off electricity bills over three months for eligible new customers.

A prize draw offers PayPay points worth ¥200 million in total to about 3.44 million winners, and people who use other mobile providers can also enter.

SoftBank says the campaigns will roll out in stages; the mobile discount has no announced end date, while some other offers run until March 31, 2027.
