Bogor suspends meal service after 13 students are monitored for illness
Indonesia’s National Nutrition Agency suspended a meal-service unit in Dramaga, Bogor after students became ill following meals from the Free Nutritious Meals program.
The students ate the meals on Monday, and some reported diarrhea early Tuesday.
Officials say 13 students remained under observation by Tuesday afternoon, correcting earlier reports of hundreds of victims.
Around 400 students had said they felt stomach pain when teachers asked about symptoms, but most were later sent home after improving.
The agency’s initial suspicion is that peanut sauce served with satay may have caused the illness; the kitchen used sauce that had already been ground.
Laboratory tests on food samples are still underway, and the meal-service unit remains suspended while investigations continue.
More than 2,000 people at two schools in Dramaga received meals, and Bogor regency is covering treatment costs.

At present, the food samples are also undergoing laboratory testing; we will wait to see what the results show. What is clear is that the SPPG concerned has also been suspended.
The preliminary suspicion is that their health was affected by the satay menu, possibly from its peanut sauce.
Thankfully, the students’ condition is gradually improving and stable, and they will even be discharged.
