Roda JC beats Jong FC Utrecht 2-1 with late winner

Roda JC beat Jong FC Utrecht 2-1 away on Monday in the Dutch second-tier Keuken Kampioen Divisie.

Jong FC Utrecht took the lead just before half-time when Massien Ghaddari scored.

Dyon Dorenbosch equalised for Roda after the break, giving the visitors a way back into the match.

The game remained close, and goalkeeper Mees Eppink and a goal-line clearance kept Roda from scoring again for much of the second half.

Captain Anthony van den Hurk scored in the 88th minute to secure the win.

Roda had been looking for confidence and better form, and the victory lifted the club to sixth with 19 points, close to the leading group.

The sources give no further details about Roda’s next match.
