Iran’s foreign minister warns a new attack would not change the outcome
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that another attack would bring no different result from previous attacks.
He said Iran had made the need to end the war on all fronts clear in negotiations with the United States, mediated by Pakistan, Qatar and others.
Araghchi said the region had changed fundamentally during what he called the forty-day war, and that things would not return to how they were before.
He said the Strait of Hormuz, bordered by Iran and Oman, would not be managed or used for shipping as it was before the conflict.
US reports described possible targets in Iran if fighting resumes, including nuclear and military sites, missile facilities, communications networks and energy infrastructure; these were potential targets, not confirmed plans.
Araghchi said Iran's policies would remain in place whether or not war breaks out, and argued that avoiding another attack would require reason.
