Nightingale Dance continues after Yas leaves Yoshimoto
Yoshimoto ended comedian Yas’s management contract on October 31 after he organized a comedy show independently.
Yas, 33, is one half of the Japanese comedy duo Nightingale Dance, alongside Nakano Nakalthyn, 32.
Yas said the contract ended because he hosted a live show on his own, and that he had apologized to Yoshimoto.
The duo will continue performing together, and Nakano will remain with Yoshimoto.
Nakano said he will leave the Shibuya Yoshimoto Manzai Theater’s roster, so he could no longer host shows there.
Two of Nakano’s planned Tokyo shows were canceled, with refunds offered to ticket holders.
Yas said he is not ready to discuss what he will do next.
