South Korea to add medical schools at two national universities

The South Korean government approved new medical schools at two national universities.

They are Suncheon National University in Jeonnam-Gwangju and Gyeongkuk National University in North Gyeongsang.

Suncheon will have 60 places and Gyeongkuk 40.

The universities plan to build medical schools and teaching hospitals.

They aim to enroll their first students in 2030.

Mokpo National University continues to oppose the decision.

The two universities are now working towards setting up the schools and hospitals.
