Pacers use six players in 108-104 loss to Hawks

The Indiana Pacers used only six players in a 108-104 loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

Injuries and rest left 11 Pacers unavailable for the game in Indianapolis, including Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam.

It was the earliest in an NBA season a team had used so few players since 1948; the Lakers used five in their third game that year.

Indiana’s available players had to play heavy minutes, with Jarace Walker on the court for 44 and no Pacer playing fewer than 34.

The Pacers cut Atlanta’s lead to two with 1:36 left, but Nickeil Alexander-Walker’s 34 points helped the Hawks close out the win.

The defeat was Indiana’s fifth straight, and no further team plans are stated.
