NHK’s ‘Toyo­tomi Brothers!’ finishes filming after 18 months

NHK’s historical drama ‘Toyotomi Brothers!’

has finished filming after a year and a half of production.

The series stars Taiga Nakano as Toyotomi Hide­naga, a warlord who helped his older brother Toyotomi Hideyoshi unify Japan.

Sosuke Ikematsu plays Hideyoshi, and Nakano thanked him for being his close ally throughout filming.

The production ended on October 30 with a scene featuring the two brothers talking together.

The drama has drawn both praise and criticism, including objections from two cities over how a historical figure was portrayed.

The final episode is scheduled for December 13, and NHK has said it will run for an extended hour.
