Bengaluru IT engineer arrested over threats to Bollywood actors
Mumbai Police arrested Bengaluru IT engineer Vaibhav Mishra over threats sent to Bollywood actors.
The messages reportedly targeted Tusshar Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana, with the sender claiming links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Tusshar reportedly received a demand for Rs 5 crore, while a separate message to Ayushmann allegedly demanded crores of rupees.
Police suspect the gang claims may have been fake; an early check of the recording sent to Tusshar found it did not match official audio samples of the person the caller claimed to be.
The threats came amid other reported threats and attacks involving Bollywood figures and the gang's name.
Investigators are working to establish who sent the messages.
