Bojonggede Station Escalator Repairs Expected by Late November

Bojonggede Station Escalator Repairs Expected by Late November

Bogor Regency is repairing the broken escalator on the skybridge at Bojonggede Station in West Java, Indonesia.

The escalator has been out of service for a long time, and passengers have been redirected to a route for people with disabilities.

Officials say the skybridge has more damage than first expected, so repairs need extra funding and some parts are not yet available.

The work is being done in stages, and the escalator is expected to be fixed by late November or, at the latest, early December 2026.

Officials say safety is the main concern because damaged steps could come loose or the escalator could move unexpectedly if forced to operate.

Residents had protested the long delay by sending a flower arrangement to the station.
