Tom Hart to work as Max Verstappen’s Red Bull race engineer

Red Bull has selected Tom Hart to work with Max Verstappen as the driver’s race engineer.

Hart has been part of Verstappen’s engineering team for years, first working in Red Bull’s simulator department and becoming a performance engineer in 2020.

Gianpiero Lambiase is preparing to leave Red Bull for McLaren, ending his long partnership with Verstappen.

Hart is due to take over from Lambiase at the United States, Sao Paulo and Las Vegas Grands Prix in 2026.

Lambiase will resume his usual duties at the Mexico City, Qatar and Abu Dhabi races, while remaining at the three events where Hart steps in.

Hart is expected to become Verstappen’s full-time race engineer in 2027, though Lambiase’s exact Red Bull departure date has not been confirmed; he is set to join McLaren no later than 2028.
