Gemini adds in-chat file creation and editing across devices

Google has added tools to create and edit files inside Gemini chats.

The features let users make documents, PDFs, presentations, spreadsheets and code from prompts, then preview and revise them without leaving the conversation.

Users can also highlight sections to request changes or ask questions about them.

PDF preview and editing work on mobile and web, while Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Markdown, TXT and code files are supported on the web only.

The update is available in languages and regions where the Gemini app is supported.

Google has also brought its latest Gemini overlay design to Android devices beyond the phones where it first appeared.

These changes make Gemini more useful for preparing and revising files, and users can open some finished work in Google apps or download it.
