Government approves ₹1,195 crore to upgrade five ITI clusters

India’s National Steering Committee approved ₹1,194.92 crore for five ITI clusters on Friday.

The clusters are in Maharashtra, Odisha and Jammu and Kashmir.

The funding is part of PM-SETU, a government scheme to upgrade industrial training institutes through industry partnerships.

Five companies and foundations will partner in the upgrades, including Tata Steel Foundation and BVG India.

The plans aim to modernise facilities, update courses and strengthen trainers and links with industry.

The goal is to improve young people’s job prospects by making training more relevant to employers.
