Goyang to give away 16 free KakaoTalk stickers featuring its mascot
The city of Goyang in South Korea will give away 16 KakaoTalk stickers featuring its mascot from 2 p.m.
on Oct.
16.
The first 40,000 people to add the city’s official channel can get them through a gift message with a download link.
The stickers can be used for 30 days after download, and existing channel subscribers must subscribe again to qualify.
Students from Joongbu University helped create the designs as part of the city’s work with the university on developing and promoting the character.
Goyang also plans to put 24 festival and sports images online, along with the original character images, for people to use.
The character, Goyang Cat, dates to 2012 and was brought back after its use had been stopped; the city says it will continue making content featuring the mascot.

The stickers will go to the first 40,000 users who add the city’s official KakaoTalk channel as a friend.
Users can download them through a gift-message link and use them for 30 days.
The designs were developed with students from Joongbu University’s cartoon and animation program.
The city will also publish 24 festival and sports images featuring the mascot on its website.
