Scotland beat Czech Republic to reach World Cup play-off final
Scotland beat the Czech Republic 3-2 in Paisley to advance in the Women’s World Cup play-offs.
The result gave Scotland a 5-2 aggregate win across the two matches.
Scotland had won the first leg 2-0, but the Czechs scored in the third minute and again in the 32nd.
Lauren Davidson equalised early, and Kathleen McGovern and Christy Grimshaw scored after half-time to secure the home win.
Scotland now face Sweden in the next play-off round, after Sweden beat Lithuania 10-0 on the night and 15-0 on aggregate.
The tie is another step towards the final in Brazil, but Sweden are ranked eighth in the world, according to Scotland coach Melissa Andreatta.
