Shane Gillis Hosts ‘Saturday Night Live’ for the Third Time
Shane Gillis hosted Saturday Night Live for the third time, in an episode featuring Rosalía as the musical guest.
The sketches included a cop talk show, a country song video and a scene set at a children’s chess tournament.
New cast member Grace Reiter played a bratty daughter on Weekend Update and appeared in two sketches with Gillis.
The episode also included a sketch in which Gillis accidentally used an expletive.
Gillis had hosted the show in 2024 and 2025 after NBC removed him from its cast days after announcing him as a featured cast member.
The removal followed the resurfacing of videos in which he mocked Asian accents and used ethnic and gay slurs.
This was his third hosting appearance, but the episode was described as lacking standout, widely shareable moments, with Reiter singled out as a highlight.

The episode included sketches about a cop talk show, a country song, quiet shoes and a heating and air-conditioning company.
Deadline described Gillis’ monologue and sketches as on-brand but said the episode had no moments worth meme-ifying.
New cast member Grace Reiter stood out in a Weekend Update segment and sketches alongside Gillis.
Gillis’ latest hosting appearance followed his 2024 and 2025 hosting gigs, after he was removed from the cast in 2019.
