Mexico’s tax authority adds 92 taxpayers to list linked to fake invoices
Mexico’s SAT added 92 taxpayers to its blacklist over invoices that allegedly did not match the resources they had to provide goods or services.
The list covers individuals and companies across several Mexican states, including 15 with tax addresses in Mexico City and nine in the State of Mexico.
The SAT said 76 were identified as issuing invoices for simulated operations after they did not provide documentation to challenge the allegations.
The other 16 submitted arguments or evidence and, according to the SAT, disproved the grounds for the initial suspicion.
The list was published in Mexico’s Official Gazette under Article 69-B of the Federal Tax Code, which addresses suspected simulated transactions.
The action is part of the SAT’s effort to strengthen tax collection by addressing companies that issue invoices for operations that did not occur.
The complete list has been published, and the SAT’s stated aim is to increase tax revenue.
