Incheon airport operator brings 50 parents to visit 30 immigrant families
Incheon International Airport Corp.
is bringing 50 parents to South Korea to visit marriage-immigrant families in Incheon and Gyeonggi Province.
The parents are from Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, the Philippines and Cambodia, and were invited because some families could not afford to reunite with them.
Thirty families were selected for this year's program after applications opened in April.
The visit begins with a welcome event in Incheon and gives each family two or three weeks together.
The company is covering travel, accommodation and activity costs, including visits to local attractions and Korean cultural activities such as making rice cakes.
Now in its third year, the program has brought together 83 families from the two provinces since it began in 2024.
The company says the reunions can support families' adjustment and sense of belonging, and says it plans to expand tailored support for multicultural families.
