Mavericks agree to two-way deal with Walter Clayton Jr
Dallas has agreed to sign guard Walter Clayton Jr. to a two-way NBA deal after he cleared waivers.
The 23-year-old was waived by the Memphis Grizzlies earlier this week as they trimmed their roster.
Clayton was the 18th pick in the 2025 draft after helping the University of Florida win a national title.
He played for Memphis last season after joining the team in a trade from Utah.
The Mavericks need more backcourt depth, with Kyrie Irving returning from an ACL injury and the team still short on ball handlers.
A two-way deal gives Dallas another guard, and Clayton will have a chance to contribute to the team.
