Piyorin and Godzilla team up for a limited-edition Nagoya sweet

JR Tokai Food Service launched a Godzilla-themed Piyorin sweet in Nagoya on November 3, the same day the film “Godzilla-0.0” opened.

Piyorin is a chick-shaped dessert made with pudding using Nagoya Cochin eggs, wrapped in bavarois.

The new version is black and uses chocolate bavarois to evoke Godzilla.

The launch brought early-morning queues to Piyorin Village, the shop at Nagoya Station, where related goods are also on sale.

Piyorin has grown into a popular character brand, with fans drawn to its cute design and merchandise as well as the dessert.

The limited-edition sweet is on sale until November 13, while the shop’s collaboration decorations remain until November 17.

Both its cute appearance and its taste have been supported. Its appeal is that it is not an edgy character, so it can fit in anywhere while staying close to its fans.

Godzilla is associated with coolness. There is something interesting about bringing together images that are opposites, Piyorin and Godzilla.
