Barcelona fined €602 over alleged contact with Julián Álvarez

Spain’s football federation fined Barcelona €602 after ruling on a complaint from Atlético Madrid.

Atlético said Barcelona contacted Julián Álvarez without first notifying his club in writing.

Álvarez is an Atlético forward whose contract runs until 2030.

The federation’s rules require a club to notify a player’s current club in writing before starting negotiations with that player.

The federation treated the alleged breach as a minor rules violation, under a rule that allows a fine of up to €602.

FIFA did not take up Atlético’s complaint because it said it had no authority over the matter.

The decision closes the federation’s case, and no further action is stated.
