Italy recalls eggs and blueberry jam over Salmonella risk

Italy’s Health Ministry recalled eggs and blueberry jam after Salmonella was found in the products.

The recall covers 18 batches of Latteria Chiuro medium eggs, sold in packs of six, and one batch of Cascina Balcarino blueberry jam in 340-gram jars.

The eggs were produced in Mese, in Sondrio province, while the jam was made in Orzinuovi, in Brescia province.

The affected egg batches have expiry dates from October 24 to November 12, 2026; the jam batch is marked 30/03/2026 and has a best-before date of March 30, 2029.

The egg notice specifies Salmonella Enteritidis, while the jam notice does not name the type of Salmonella.

Consumers should not eat either recalled product if they have one of the listed batches.

They can return it to the shop where they bought it.
