Jeanfi Janssens says working with Stéphane Plaza strained their friendship
Comedian Jeanfi Janssens says his friendship with Stéphane Plaza has changed since they worked together.
The two appeared in Laurent Ruquier’s play Un couple magique at the Bouffes Parisiens theatre in Paris from 2022 to 2023.
Janssens said working with a friend was difficult, especially in the arts.
He said Plaza wanted the spotlight because audiences came to see him, and that their backstage relationship became tense.
Janssens also said Plaza imposed decisions and did not compromise easily.
Plaza was later convicted on appeal in September 2026 of domestic violence and given an 18-month suspended prison sentence.
Janssens had previously supported Plaza, but his comments suggest he has now distanced himself.
