Reliance Industries posts record quarterly profit as Jio reports growth
Reliance Industries reported record quarterly profit for the July-to-September quarter, while Jio Platforms also posted higher profit.
Reliance’s profit rose 33.8% from a year earlier to ₹29,550 crore, helped by stronger results in its oil-to-chemicals business.
Higher fuel margins lifted oil-to-chemicals earnings, as global refining conditions improved.
Reliance’s retail business was a weaker spot, with profit down 24.3% despite higher revenue.
Jio reported growth in profit and customer spending, and its user base reached 542.4 million.
The results came soon after Jio Platforms completed a ₹30,188-crore IPO and began trading as a listed company.
Investors will assess both companies’ results on Monday, when the shares are in focus.
