China's emerging industries could exceed 10 trillion yuan in output by 2030

China's emerging pillar industries could top 10 trillion yuan in output by the end of its 2026–2030 development plan.

Their output was nearly 6 trillion yuan last year, according to China's National Development and Reform Commission.

The forecast covers industries the government describes as emerging pillars of the economy, though the statement does not list them.

Integrated circuit production reached 442.8 billion units in the first three quarters of this year, up 23.3% from a year earlier.

Deals licensing Chinese innovative drug technology abroad were worth about $130 billion, close to the total for all of last year.

The commission said rising research spending and new technologies and products are helping these industries grow.

The government expects their output to more than double, making them a stronger support for higher-quality economic growth.
