Indonesian Authorities Seize Meth and Ecstasy Near Malaysia Border

A joint team of Indonesian customs, security and law enforcement officers seized drugs near the Malaysia border in Entikong, West Kalimantan.

The seizure followed an attempt to stop two people crossing by an unofficial route near Guntembawang post in November 2026.

They fled, leaving behind a basket and a backpack.

Officers found 31.37 kilograms of methamphetamine in 30 tea packets and 4,955 ecstasy pills in five packages.

Tests confirmed that samples of both the crystals and the pills contained drugs.

The seizure matters because authorities say they are working to prevent narcotics from entering Indonesia through the border area.

The evidence is being held for legal proceedings and is due to be handed over to West Kalimantan's provincial narcotics agency.
