Amazon starts next-day US deliveries to central Mexico through AIFA
Amazon has started next-day delivery from the United States to customers in Mexico City, Toluca and Puebla.
Packages travel from a shipping center in the southern United States by air to Felipe Ángeles International Airport, or AIFA, then go by road to customers.
The service gives Mexican shoppers access to tens of millions of products from the US, including items not sold in Mexican stores if they meet import rules.
About 28,000 people had received next-day orders, and Prime members get the delivery at no extra charge.
Amazon displays import charges, taxes and shipping costs during checkout, while the company says missed delivery promises could damage customer trust.
Amazon wants to test the service before expanding it to Guadalajara and Monterrey.

What people are saying
We are making extensive use of AIFA. We are trying to understand how the package leaves our shipping center in the southern United States, crosses the border, gets on a plane, arrives at AIFA, gets into an Amazon van and reaches the consumer’s home.
This is the first time we are doing this, and we want to test it and provide excellent service so we can then replicate it elsewhere.
The worst thing that could happen is that we get excited and start failing to meet delivery dates, because then I lose consumer trust, and if I lose consumer trust, I have failed.
