Nice beat Brest 2-1 after coming from behind

Nice beat Brest 2-1 away in the match that opened the eighth round of France’s Ligue 1.

Brest took the lead at home in the 15th minute through Ludovic Ajorque.

Evann Guessand Wahi equalised for Nice in the 61st minute, then set up Sofiane Diop’s winning goal with 10 minutes left.

Brest had a chance to level the score in stoppage time, but Kenny Lala’s penalty was saved by Yehvann Diouf.

The win lifted Nice to 11 points, level with Lorient, while Brest stayed on nine points.

Nice therefore moved above Brest in the standings, and the result leaves Brest looking back on a late chance to take a point.
