Turkey’s Cybersecurity Board reviews digital sovereignty strategy

Turkey’s Cybersecurity Board held its second meeting at the Presidential Complex, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi said the board discussed global cyber threats and risks from artificial intelligence.

It also considered how digital platforms can influence people through algorithms and shape perceptions in ways that may affect national security.

The meeting reviewed a Digital Sovereignty Strategy aimed at protecting critical infrastructure, strengthening technological independence and increasing the country’s ability to withstand cyber threats.

Çiftçi said digital sovereignty is part of Turkey’s national security.

The stated goal is to build a more coordinated security system by strengthening cooperation among government bodies, businesses and universities.
