Police clear migrant camps and gather people in parts of Ceuta
Spanish police cleared a migrant camp near Tarajal in Ceuta on Sunday and gathered migrants in nearby districts, including Los Rosales.
The operation is part of a plan to locate people still living on the streets and in industrial areas.
Those found were taken to a temporary centre for identification.
From there, they may be sent to a reception camp at Loma Colmenar or other temporary accommodation.
They can also choose to return voluntarily to Morocco, where many had set out from nearly three months earlier.
The Tarajal camp had been linked to complaints about disturbances and fires, while the operation there became tense as some people tried to leave.
Police are continuing the operation in peripheral districts and industrial areas under the announced plan.
Police carried out an operation in Ceuta on Sunday to clear migrant encampments and locate people living in the streets and industrial areas.
The operation began in Los Rosales at 7.00 a.m., where about 100 national police officers searched for migrants.
Police gathered people in groups and took them by bus to the Temporary Centre for Foreigners (CATE).
Officers later moved to the Tarajal industrial area, where some migrants tried to flee as police arrived.
