Mexico's new Cuenta Fácil will allow monthly deposits of up to 15,000 UDIs

Mexico's banking association says a new account will be called Cuenta Fácil instead of N2 Bis.

It is aimed mainly at micro and small businesses and is designed to make it easier for them to use formal financial services.

The account will allow deposits of up to 15,000 UDIs per month, equivalent to a little over 130,000 pesos, according to the account details.

Of that total, up to 12,000 UDIs can come from digital payments and 3,000 from cash.

Customers can open it through a bank app with official identification and proof of address, without providing a tax ID or visiting a branch.

The account is part of efforts to expand digital payments and reduce cash use in Mexico.

The banking sector has agreed on the account, and it is expected to be ready before the end of the year.

The accounts have been approved, and we will now call them Cuenta Fácil; each bank is setting them up so they can be opened very simply and remotely.
