Netaji’s grandnephew demands Fauzi teaser be withdrawn over history claims

Netaji’s grandnephew demands Fauzi teaser be withdrawn over history claims

Chandra Kumar Bose, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s grandnephew, wants the Fauzi teaser taken down.

He says the video distorts a 1942 meeting between Netaji and Adolf Hitler in Berlin.

The teaser shows Netaji praising Prabhas’s fictional spy character during the meeting, presenting him as a soldier and strategist who harmed British intelligence.

Bose says Netaji sought help for India’s freedom struggle from Germany and Japan, while opposing fascism and supporting democracy.

Bose says using Netaji to build up a fictional hero misrepresents history and has asked director Hanu Raghavapudi to apologise and release a replacement teaser.

The film is a period action story starring Prabhas, and its teaser was released on October 23.

The filmmakers have not yet responded to the demands, and the film is scheduled to reach cinemas on March 19, 2027.
