Changshan Huyou Harvest Begins in Zhejiang, With Better Fruit Expected

The 2026 Changshan Huyou harvest began on November 7 in Changshan county, in China’s Zhejiang province.

Changshan Huyou is a citrus fruit that has been grown in the area for more than 600 years.

A local official said the fruit is expected to be better overall than in previous years, based on its shape, colour, surface and taste.

The county has 106,000 mu of Huyou orchards and produces 150,000 tonnes a year.

More than 70% of the fruit is processed into products, including drinks, foods and cosmetics, and some are sold overseas.

New food-safety and digital farming standards were presented at the harvest opening as the county develops its Huyou industry.
