US to meet NATO allies on Ukraine security and reconstruction

US negotiators plan talks in Brussels this week with representatives of France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the EU and NATO.

They will discuss security guarantees for Ukraine and Europe’s security arrangements after the conflict.

The talks will also cover economic support for Ukraine’s reconstruction.

The United States says it wants to build on progress made in earlier discussions in Kiev, Oslo and St. Petersburg.

US-mediated talks involving Russia and Ukraine are planned for Abu Dhabi on November 10-11.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said Moscow is ready to resume trilateral talks on settling the conflict.

The Brussels discussions are focused on Ukraine’s security and recovery, while the Abu Dhabi talks are intended to address the conflict itself.
