René Karst’s daughter Ychelle welcomes her first child

Ychelle Karst, daughter of Dutch singer René Karst, has had her first child.

Her daughter, named Lorèn, was born healthy at the end of last month.

Ychelle and her partner Ricardo said they were overjoyed by the baby’s arrival.

René Karst died unexpectedly last November, before his granddaughter was born.

Ychelle said her father’s absence has brought on grief, even as the baby’s arrival feels like a gift from above.

The birth is a joyful moment for the family, but it also highlights the loss of a father who cannot share it with them.
