Carabinieri rescue young man from river in Padua

On October 24, a young man entered a river in Padua, in northern Italy.

One account says he was 20, while another describes him only as a young man.

Two carabinieri entered the water and helped bring him to shore after he struggled in the current.

Emergency medical staff took him to Padua's hospital for care.

Accounts say the incident was linked to emotional distress over a relationship.

The rescue prevented a possible tragedy, but no further information about his condition was given.
