Falcons Activate James Pearce After Eight-Game Suspension
The Atlanta Falcons activated pass rusher James Pearce before their Week 9 game against the Cincinnati Bengals in Madrid.
Pearce is returning after an eight-game suspension linked to a domestic violence arrest; the charges against him were dropped after he completed a pretrial diversion program.
The NFL still suspended him, and the Falcons have now added him to their active roster.
Pearce recorded 10.5 sacks as a rookie, leading Atlanta and all rookies, so his return gives the team a major defensive option.
The Falcons also activated linebacker Yasir Abdullah and receiver Beaux Collins from injured reserve, while Brian Robinson went on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.
Atlanta signed running back Khalil Herbert from its practice squad to back up Bijan Robinson, and Pearce is set to make his season debut against Cincinnati.
