Gangneung to host 2026 ITS World Congress from Oct. 19

Gangneung and South Korea’s transport ministry are hosting the event at the city’s Olympic Park, with about 60,000 people from more than 90 countries expected.
The congress focuses on intelligent transport systems, which use information and communications technology to make transport more efficient and safer.
The program includes discussions on self-driving technology, AI traffic signals, public transport and greener transport systems.
More than 100 organizations and companies will display transport technologies, while visitors can try activities including rides on Gangneung’s autonomous vehicles.
The event also includes public performances and demonstrations, and the city is increasing bus services and running shuttles for visitors.
