Home Depot opens new store in Querétaro after 400 million-peso investment

The Home Depot opened a new store in Querétaro, the capital of the central Mexican state of the same name.

The company invested 400 million pesos in the store, which created 92 direct jobs and is expected to generate 350 indirect jobs.

The opening brings The Home Depot’s total in Mexico to 145 stores, as the company marks 25 years of operations in the country.

In Querétaro state, the retailer also has seven stores and a distribution center that supplies five states in the region.

Local officials said the new branch is expected to support economic activity in the city’s northwest.

The investment comes as US companies remain a major source of foreign investment in the state: Querétaro received 389.7 million dollars from the United States in the first half of the year, equal to 45.1% of its total foreign investment, though that US investment was down 33.7% from the same period in 2025.
