Bomb threat diverts Dublin-Rome flight to French military base

An Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Rome was diverted to a military air base in Evreux, Normandy, on Thursday after a bomb threat.

The plane landed safely, and all 151 passengers and six crew members are safe.

French military bomb defusal teams are examining the aircraft.

The French prime minister’s office said it was following the situation, but gave no further details.

Several flights across Europe received hoax bomb threats this week, leading to searches and diversions.

These incidents follow other recent threats against flights, including one that caused a plane bound for Bulgaria to divert to Hungary.

The aircraft checks are continuing, and no further outcome was announced.
