ChatGPT can now manage iCloud email and calendar events
OpenAI has added iCloud Mail and Calendar plugins to ChatGPT.
With permission, the chatbot can read and manage iCloud emails and use details in them to create or update calendar events.
The tools are available to iPhone, iPad and Mac users who use ChatGPT.
Previously, Siri could hand some queries to ChatGPT, but OpenAI said that integration had underperformed.
Apple’s newer Siri can manage iCloud email and calendar events through built-in system integration, while ChatGPT now connects through these plugins.
OpenAI says the plugins are available on all ChatGPT plans, and the company has not announced any further steps.
ChatGPT has added iCloud Mail and iCloud Calendar plugins that let users search emails and manage calendar events.
The plugins can also summarize conversations, draft and send emails, look up contacts, and create or update events.

Users must connect each service separately and use an Apple app-specific password, with two-factor authentication enabled.
The Mail plugin accesses only messages stored in iCloud Mail, not Gmail or Outlook accounts added to Apple Mail.
