Mercedes can clinch the constructors’ title at the Brazilian Grand Prix

Mercedes heads into the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos with a 126-point lead over Ferrari in the constructors’ championship.

Ferrari is the only team that can still catch Mercedes, and Mercedes will secure the title if its lead reaches at least 129 points after Sunday’s race.

The race also marks Rafael Camara’s Formula 1 debut for Haas, alongside Brazilian driver Gabriel Bortoleto.

Camara takes the seat previously held by Esteban Ocon, who will not return to drive for Haas.

Mercedes drivers Kimi Antonelli and George Russell will wear purple race suits inspired by Brazil’s racing past, including the era of champions Nelson Piquet and Ayrton Senna.

The design is part of Mercedes’ partnership with Brazilian bank Nubank and will be worn throughout the race weekend.

The constructors’ title could be decided on Sunday, while Ferrari’s performance will affect whether Mercedes must wait until the Las Vegas race.

The Sao Paulo Grand Prix is a special round for Brazilians, for Nubank, because it takes place in the city where it was founded, and for the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team drivers.
