Bournemouth beat 10-man Sunderland 2-0 for first league win

Bournemouth beat Sunderland 2-0 in a Premier League match at Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium.

Marcus Tavernier scored in the sixth minute, heading in after Evanilson set him up.

Sunderland defender Kevin Danso was sent off in the 17th minute for pulling down Evanilson as he ran toward goal.

Sunderland played the rest of the match with 10 men, and Evanilson scored again three minutes into the second half after a defensive mistake.

The win was Bournemouth’s first in the league this season and lifted the team out of the relegation zone.

Sunderland remained 19th with four points and had not won a league match since beating Fulham on August 30.

Bournemouth gained three important points, while Sunderland still need to improve their away results to avoid relegation.
