Mariana Ochoa Has Yet to Receive Her Reality Show Prize
Mariana Ochoa won the fourth season of La Casa de los Famosos México and its 4 million-peso prize after 71 days of competition.
She says she has not yet received the money, nearly a month after the final.
Ochoa said the payment can take three to six months to process.
Mario Bezares, winner of the show's second season, told her his payment took six months.
Past winners say deductions leave them with a little over 2 million pesos after taxes and withholdings.
Ochoa plans to donate part of her prize to a foundation and use the rest to support her solo career and make a down payment on a home for her family.
Her win followed an unusual return to the contest after she was eliminated in its first week, prompting fraud claims online that the show's producer denied.
