Perpetual finds tungsten grades up to 12.03% at Nevada mine

Australian explorer Perpetual Resources found high-grade tungsten in samples from its historic Nevada Scheelite mine in the United States.

Eight of nine underground samples contained more than 1% tungsten oxide, and the highest result was 12.03%.

These were selective samples, so they do not show the average grade or prove that mineralisation continues through the area.

A new LiDAR survey has created a 3D view of the old mine, which the company is combining with historical plans and drill data to identify untested areas.

The company sees potential beyond the old workings, including at greater depths, but those extensions have not yet been confirmed by modern sampling.

Perpetual is preparing its first modern diamond drilling program, with rig contracts under review and arrangements expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

It also plans further mapping, sampling and tests of preserved historical drill core.

While these are selective samples and do not establish average grades or continuity, they reinforce our confidence in the exploration potential of Nevada Scheelite.
