Rapper Bill Stax charged over alleged cannabis use

South Korean rapper Bill Stax has been charged with violating the country’s drug laws over alleged cannabis use.

Prosecutors in Suwon say he used cannabis several times, including in November last year and August this year.

They allege he bought it from two sellers, including a man who was investigated for selling cannabis and cannabis jelly.

The seller was charged in July over alleged cannabis cultivation and production of cannabis jelly.

Bill Stax was charged without detention on October 16, so he remains out of custody while the case proceeds.

The allegations are not a conviction, and a court will consider the case.

He has previously faced a separate prosecution over alleged drug use, and has publicly argued for cannabis legalisation.
