Krafton shares jump after it announces $300 million buyback and cancellation

South Korean game company Krafton said it will buy back and cancel its own shares in a move aimed at increasing value for shareholders.

The company plans to purchase 1,651,073 ordinary shares for about 300 billion won.

It will buy the shares directly on the stock market between November 4, 2026, and February 3, 2027, then cancel them.

After the announcement, Krafton shares rose more than 11% early in trading on November 4 and briefly climbed 14.34%.

The buyback would bring Krafton’s shareholder returns this year to 917.2 billion won, its largest annual total since it began returning value to shareholders in 2023.

In February, Krafton said it planned to return more than 1 trillion won to shareholders over three years through 2028.

The share purchases are scheduled to continue until February 3, 2027, according to the company’s plan.
