Porsche profit rebounds as it reduces reliance on China
Porsche reported a sharp profit rebound for the first nine months of 2026, even as its business faced weaker sales.
The Stuttgart-based sports carmaker recorded 1.74 billion euros in operating profit, compared with 40 million euros a year earlier.
Last year’s result was weighed down by about 2.7 billion euros in restructuring costs, while this year revenue fell 5.9% to 25.28 billion euros.
Vehicle deliveries dropped 16%, to 178,532, and North America remained Porsche’s biggest sales region by volume.
Porsche has significantly reduced its exposure to China, where German luxury carmakers face growing competition from local brands, including in electric vehicles.
The company is cutting thousands of jobs as part of a wider effort to reduce costs and respond to weaker demand.
Porsche confirmed its annual outlook, while analysts expect a recovery in underlying profit to begin in 2028.
Porsche reported operating profit of €387 million in the third quarter, after an operating loss a year earlier.
Quarterly revenue fell 7.5% to €8.05 billion, and the company missed analysts’ forecasts for revenue and operating profit.
For the first nine months, revenue declined 5.9% to €25.28 billion and operating profit was €1.74 billion.
Customer deliveries fell 16% to 178,532 in the first nine months.
Porsche CEO Michael Leiters confirmed the company’s annual outlook.
