Cheongju to give 585 buses a new city-specific design
The city of Cheongju plans a new look for its buses starting in the second half of 2027.
The plan covers 585 vehicles: 528 city buses and 57 call buses, using 1.683 billion won from the city budget.
Until now, Cheongju buses have used a design set by North Chungcheong Province in 1999, also used in other cities and counties in the province.
The city wants a design that reflects Cheongju’s own identity and says it will gather and use residents’ views.
It plans to announce a tender this month and complete design work and public consultation by June 2027.
Repainting is due to begin in the second half of 2027.
