PP links Spain’s housing crisis and Urda rail crash to low investment
At a university event in Madrid, PP deputy Alberto Nadal blamed low investment under Pedro Sánchez’s government for problems including the Urda rail accident, housing access and power cuts.
Nadal said investment in infrastructure, energy and education should be a public spending priority.
His remarks came ahead of Spain’s 29 November election, before the PP has presented its full economic programme.
On housing, he argued that building more homes is the main solution and also proposed tax relief and financial support for young buyers.
He said empty homes should be brought onto the market, with stronger protections for owners against illegal occupation.
Nadal also called for lower taxes on work and business, while saying the public pension system can remain sustainable if productivity rises.
The PP’s proposals are still to come in its election programme.

By not creating the conditions to invest and by not thinking about the future, the current government is stealing your chance to progress
The main solution is that you pay more taxes because you earn much more
